It is an honor and privilege to have been elected President of the Canadian School Boards Association at our July Congress. As a Board of Directors we are focused on providing: a national voice for School Boards, identifying and advocating on shared national issues in education, and supporting member school boards associations in achieving their missions of providing quality education to Canadian children.
School Boards in Canada have a long history of serving children and their communities by providing an effective model for community voice in public education. They have helped shape a system which is considered to be one of the best and most respected in the world. With each province being responsible for its own jurisdiction, unique cultures and practices are created. However, there are many commonalities we share across the country.
Our aim is to work together, to establish strong partnerships and to learn from each other. When we unite our voices we can help to ensure students find success in their schooling.
We look forward to serving you in the coming year.
